Lyle's family
Lyle called me yesterday afternoon. He had talked with Uncle Bill Batt in Spokane, who wants to receive the newsletter again. He really misses the ongoing news about our family. The rest of Lyle's family seem to be doing well.
Gene's family
Lyle also reported that he has been helping Gene haul corn. Gene has a contract with Simplots to deliver 1,400 acres of corn. Lyle said that Saturday was their best day ever, and they only got something like 80 acres done. Fortunately, the weather for the coming week is supposed to be cooperative. Lyle said Gene works very long days.
Jackie's family
Yesterday I talked on the phone with Jackie, wishing her a belated happy birthday, which was the day before. They hadn't done much celebrating on Saturday because they were busy with a Boise State game, but she said the weekend before she and Rex had taken off and went up to Cascade.
Some days ago the cat that had lived in their garage disappeared. He had never run away in the 15 years they've had him, but he was gone for three days. They thought they had lost him. But the he turned up. They took him to the vet to make sure he was okay. He was, except for one thing. He is blind and apparently couldn't find his way back home. So now he is a house cat.
