Giants win World Series
This year's World Series began Wednesday, October 27, and ended Monday, November 1, with the San Francisco Giants winning 4 games to 1 against the Texas Rangers in the best-of-seven series. It was the Giants' first World Series win since 1954.
Utah moves up in polls
Utah, ranked 5th in this week's BCS standings, showed up 6th in the AP Top 25, the USA Today, and ESPN's polls. Boise State was ranked 4th in the BCS standings, 3rd in the USA Today poll, and 2nd in both the AP Top 25 and ESPN polls. Oregon was ranked 1st in all four polls.
