4 Bits and tidbits

Dean's familyEliza gave birth to Claire Ruth Challis in Lawrenceville, Georgia, on Friday morning, January 14, at 7:52 a.m. Claire arrived exactly one week past her expected due date. She weighed 9 pounds 2 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long. She joins her parents, Paul and Eliza, and two older brothers, Peter (age 4) and Aaron (age 2).

Eliza's sister Anna and her one-year-old son Miles spent the week of January 8 through 15 visiting Paul and Eliza in Atlanta, hoping the baby would come while she was there. It finally did the day before she flew back to Salt Lake City. Anna was there in time, however, to experience the snow and ice storm that pretty much shut Atlanta down for three or four days. It was actually fortunate the baby didn't try to come then, or they may have had a delivery at home.

Claudia and I arrived the evening of January 14 to spend ten days playing with our grandchildren and helping out with the new baby. Eliza and Claire came home from the hospital on the afternoon of January 15, shortly after I dropped Anna and Miles off at the airport to fly home to Utah.
