The farm owned by Henry William Cleverly was in this area. There is a chance, although we have no way of confirming it directly, that the unidentified man standing to the right forefront of the next picture could pass as Henry William Cleverly.
This is the shot we shared last week of the actual Cleverly Crossing. The road running parallel to the train tracks is what today would be U.S. Highway 89 (and in earlier times was also known as U.S. Highway 91).
The large building in the next picture is the District School of South Bountiful, which was built in 1898 and replaced an earlier school building built in the early 1880s on the same site.
Harry Shipler of Shipler Commercial Photographers is credited with taking the pictures. The photographs are all dated May 20, 1913, two years before Ivard was born on April 7, 1915.
This area of south Davis County certainly looks a lot different than it does today nearly a century later.

The picture that says Cleverly crossing is just to the north of where my dad and grandparents lived. The bamburger tracks ran north and south along what is highway 89 today. The picture is taken looking towards North Salt Lake. To the back of the fotographer and to his right is a nursery and further to his back and around the bend is the old Valley Music Hall or now the Regional Conference Center. Their use to be a white house on the corner of the lot of the Valley Music Hall parking lot. Mom and Dad lived in the house.
The picture of the school possibly is the old Stoker school where Lyle, Gail and Jerry attended school. Lyle needs to comment.
I remember the white house on the corner of the parking lot of what used to be the Valley Music Hall. It was still there during the early years after Claudia and I moved to Bountiful in November 1977. And I was aware that Mom and Dad used to live in the house.
